Value Creation, Streamline Process

Operating in a challenging high technology engineering research, design and production environment, UPECA Engineering strives to make every facet of its business, people, processes and state-of-the-art equipment to form an integrated activity nerve centre.

Our integrated R&D and manufacturing centre is organised around common processes that focuses on our core competencies - from product design and research and manufacturing and assembly to quality control and testing, and finally to product packaging and delivery.

This ensures flexibility across our product lines, consistency in our product quality, increased productivity and traceability across our processes which are important deliverables to our customers.

Engineering Capabilities

1. Material and Precision Engineering
UPECA
's material engineering capabilities cover a wide range of materials ranging from the common Aluminium and Stainless Steel of various grades to exotic materials such as Inconel, Titanium and Nimonic. Our experience in terms of material procurement, storage, handling and material formation ensures precise cuts at the lowest wastage.

The following is the list of common materials that we have worked with:

Solids:

  • Aluminium Alloy
  • Stainless Steel
  • Carbon Steel
  • Tool Steel
  • Titanium
  • Inconel

The components and parts are fabricated from various raw material forms such as rod, flat bar and plate form.

Engineering Plastics:

  • Torlon
  • Teflon
  • Vespel
  • Delrin
  • PVC
  • Nylon

Castings:

  • Iron
  • Aluminium
  • Stainless Steel

Some of the methods that we deploy to fabricate our casts are sand casting, gravity casting and investment casting.

Our engineering capabilities can cater to demanding technical specifications and requirements for different types of industries. We have been servicing and providing engineering solutions to two of the world's most challenging industries in terms of their technical requirements namely the Energy Production Sector and Aerospace Sector.

We are able to produce parts and components of consistent quality for tolerances of ±10µm for CNC machining processes, ±5µm for grinding processes, a maximum of 1.8mtr X 0.8 mtr for CNC milling processes and 0.5mtr diameter for CNC turning processes.

2. Surface Treatment
Surface treatment solution is a large part of our total one-stop services that we offer to all our customers aside from our precision engineering capabilities. We can cater to all technical surface treatment specifications for diverse industries such as Hard Chrome, Nickel Chrome, Nickel Plating, Hard Anodise, Black and Natural Anodise, Chemical Film and others.

We also worked closely with NADCAP approved facilities to provide complete surface treatment services to cater specifically to the Aerospace sector.

3. Heat Treatment
We have also worked conscientiously with many of our corporate customers in terms of meeting their requirements for parts and components heat treatment to further strengthen and improve the material quality for specific applications.

Some of the heat treatment solutions that we can readily offer to our clients are Vacuum Hardening, Induction, Furnace Hardening and many others. We can help provide consultation to your engineering team in terms of the best heat treatment solutions that is required by your parts and components, given our extensive experience in servicing various industries over the last decade.

4. Computer Aided Engineering
Computer aided engineering is a significant part of the various processes and steps we take to provide our customers with high value added solutions to ensure high product quality at reduced cost. Through the various types of automation and CAD/CAM software that we used, we are able to design, generate 3D models, virtually test and simulate the various production of parts and components prior to actual production. We are able to work with file formats that are commonly used in the industry such as IGES, DWG, DXF, STL, PARASOLID and UNIGRAPHICS, allowing us to serve the needs of our customers.

We also keep proper records and archive of drawings for our customers' future referrals, quality control and product development purposes.
